How the shelf is picked
Each item is on the shelf because a step on the checklist asks for one, read off its maker's own pages, none paid for.
The shelf is short on purpose. An item is here because a step on the winter checklist asks for one, not because it is popular or pays.
The rules
- Specs come from the maker. Every number on an item was read on 2026-10-27 from the maker's own product page, spec page, manual or warranty, and the item lists each one. Nothing comes from a review or a store listing.
- What the maker does not say stays blank. A spec the maker does not state is printed as not stated, never filled in.
- Disagreements are shown. When two of the maker's own pages disagree, the item says so, and the spec prints the more cautious figure.
- The guides stay brand-free. Every page outside /shop on winterize.house names no brand and links here by what a step needs, never by product.
- No prices. They change, so the shelf links out instead of printing a number that will be wrong.
- No paid placement. No maker has paid to be here or to be described a certain way.
The links
Every store link on this shelf goes to the maker's own page unless a note beside it says it is an affiliate link. The guides on winterize.house name no brand; only these shelf pages do. No maker pays for placement. If a link can earn, the words a program requires print beside it and the page says so above the first one.
Corrections
If a maker changes a spec, or a spec here is wrong, the item is corrected and the change is recorded. See Corrections.

Notes drafted with a language model from the maker's pages and checked against them. Product information, not professional advice: for gas, electrical and roof work, hire someone licensed.
